The Sina Name

Avicenna (980 - 1037 AD and also known as Sina) contributed significantly to the history and advancement of aromatherapy. A well-known physician, he is accredited with writings on the use of over 800 medicinal plants and for developing a process to distill essential oils from flowers. Sina was “ahead of his time” and it is perhaps for this reason that many of Sina’s texts, most notably, “The Book of Healing” and “Canon of Medicine” are still referred to by modern medicine today. In recognition of Sina’s pioneering work in plant therapy, the company has taken his name.
